Must you make a resident tax declaration in Spain?
Tax declarations for residents

If you are a resident in Spain then it is most likely that you must make an annual tax declaration before the end of June. Although we are only now entering May, this is the time when these declarations are being made. The annual declaration is a summary of your income and enables the tax office to catch up with whether you have paid sufficient or insufficient tax during the relevant tax year. If you are lucky, retentions throughout the year mean that you may have some tax that is owed to you. In other cases, accumulated income over the year may mean that you will have a tax bill to pay.

Those eligible to make a tax declaration include pensioners, who receive one or more pensions abroad totalling more than 14,000€ a year, and early retirees with an income of more than 1,000€ from renting or interest. With the current requirements for entering the country since Brexit, it is to be expected that all new residents will have a declaration to make when their turn comes.

In this article we explain in more detail about the resident tax declaration and the benefits of making one:

If you drive a car and live in the vicinity of Torrevieja then it is likely that you have received your road tax bill. The good news, firstly, is that this is not an expensive tax to pay for most road vehicles and secondly that the process for paying it is straight forward. Once this has passed then payment options become more complicated:

Few places in Spain emerged easily from the measures taken against COVID but Benidorm in particular suffered from the absence of its main source of revenue.

It’s recently been announced that thirteen companies located in Benidorm have been awarded SICTED which is a quality assurance mark for the tourist trade. This is being promoted as an example of how Benidorm is improving its image. Of course, the real way to check out the impact of this is to take a visit yourself:
