Beware another SMS scam
Tax internet scams

It seems as though the scammers are getting more and more sophisticated and everyone needs to be on the alert for emails and messages that arrive in your inbox without warning. In this article Euroweekly warn us about an SMS being sent, allegedly from the Agencia Tributaria, claiming that the recipient is owed a tax refund. Of course, the clue is when you click on the link and they then ask you for your credit or debit card details.

This is not how the Agencia Tributaria works. You would not be contacted in this way and asked for this information:

Torrevieja May Fair
The May Fair is coming

Perhaps one of the most enjoyable annual festivals is the May Fair that takes place in a number of cities across Spain at this time of year. Torrevieja is just one town that celebrates this event, famous for its horse parades and celebration of the sevillanas’ tradition.

This year it will take place from 9th to 12th May and if you live elsewhere you might want to check up on the collection points offered by Eurotourguide:

Torrevieja May Fair

Since the town council began work on the regeneration of the port area, the traditional location is no longer available. Instead this year, as last year, you will need to go to the Parque de la Estación which is not as large a venue but is still worth a visit if you want to enjoy some paella and watch flamenco.
