The tax form, modelo 210, can be completed directly or you can use a tax representative to do the job for you. Either way, it is important that you present your declaration before this date to avoid fines and bank embargoes. We explain in more detail what you need to pay, how and why:

Ábaco clients needn´t worry as we are already presenting your tax declarations as normal.

How to spot a social media scam
Watch out for scams

Unlike most of us, scammers were very active during lockdown. As we increasingly used social media and online shopping, this provided the perfect opportunity for the spread of scams and online confidence tricks.

This article from Which? Provides us with six tips to spot a scam along with information on Whatsapp scams:

Learn Spanish, and about Spain, for free
Want to learn Spanish? – some advice

It’s perhaps not proving as easy as you thought it would. Learning a foreign language is difficult and gets more difficult with age. However, living in Spain it is really beneficial if you can speak at least a little and ‘get by’ in those crucial situations like at the doctors or in the post office.

This article from Money Saver Spain, suggests a wide variety of different methods and links to Spanish lesson providers and apps. It’s a good way to explore some learning resources that you might not have considered before:

Keep up-to-date with the Spanish news and enjoy the music

BayRadio, of course, plays music but you can also find information and read articles about what’s happening in Spain on its webpages. They broadcast during the day and you can listen to music throughout the night. You can see their schedule here and find out about the Spanish news here.

You can also read about what’s happening with Brexit.
La Zenia website

If you live in Orihuela Costa, or even if you don’t, you might be interested to take a look at the La Zenia website. It provides information about what’s taking place (although not a lot at the moment), local and national news and information about local shopping opportunities:

Visit your very own Spanish galleon

The galleon ‘Andalucía’ will be docked in the fishing harbour in Torrevieja port until the 2nd November and you can take a look around between the hours of 10am and 7pm. It’s a replica of the genuine article but even so is pretty impressive and a very good photo opportunity.

In better times the galleon can be hired out for parties and social events. You can pre-book your tickets on this link.
Help with residency

The Local provides an update for those who are still struggling to regularise their situation. There really is very little time to make arrangements so if you haven’t already then you might take a look at what they suggest here:

Where to get your updates

As the COVID situation continues to change and different regions are implementing different levels of restriction, it can be difficult for the non-Spanish speaker to understand what’s required. However, there are plenty of news channels that are doing their best to make accurate information available to you:
