The word is out that Murcia will be the next Disney Land. Well, not quite - an agreement has been reached with Paramount Leasing PLI (a subsidiary to Paramount) for a theme park to be built in Murcia. For anyone experiencing a dip in trade or looking to let their property this could be the good news they've been waiting for. The race is on between Alhama de Murcia and Fuente Álamo to play host. Gossip on the forums

What the word is on the streets

Since the football team 'Hércules' from Alicante have made it into the Spanish premier league there's been a lot of interest in the tickets. No doubt the big matches against Real Madrid and Barcelona will be over subscribed but the other fixtures still seem to be

accessible to ordinary mortals. If you're interested in finding out more about the team www.herculescf.es.Tickets are pricy but can generally be bought on the day. For updated coverage of fixtures www.thejungledrums.com.

There's more than one way…

Struggling to sell your property? There are more ways than one. We cover a couple of more unusual alternatives on our ÁbacoConnect website. You could try the 'rent to buy' alternative. This is when you rent out your property first whilst also providing an option for your tenant to buy at a later stage. Read more about this www.abacotaxes.com/rent.

Another alternative is exchanging your property permanently as part of a house swap - more information is available at www.abacotaxes.com/swap.

Or why not just put it up for auction? There are plenty of safeguards for both buyers and sellers if you follow the right procedures. Read more about this alternative in our abacomagazine #e21 - auction.

Worth a visit

If you are interested in seeing a genuine Grand Designs creation there's one in San Miguel de Salinas (Alicante) that you can not only see but enjoy too. Casa La Pedrera was featured in Grand Designs Abroad and since then opened its doors to the public. It offers a wide selection of outdoor activities including walking and hiking, fishing, quad biking, horse riding - all situated around the beautiful Pedrera Reservoir. It also hosts some slightly more unusual events such as the dog show for APAH. To find out more have a look at their website www.thingstodoinspain.info.

Coming out?
What's coming up?

Do you enjoy your food? Who doesn’t. Why not join in with the Gastronomy Conference at the IFA Exhibition Centre in Alicante. At this famous conference Spain’s top chefs show off their culinary skills, give cooking master classes and compete for awards. The feeding of the 270!

When we invited a few Ábaco clients to an open day about Imserso we didn't know how many to expect. It wasn't 270 though! On the 15th and 20th September Pizzería Da Vinci in Torrevieja was full to busting with pensioners anxious to finding out more about these holidays subsidised by the Spanish Government. If you would like to know more but missed the rush, you still have until the 1st December to apply. Ábaco will be happy to help you process your application.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Judi Wilkinson who had the winning entry in our free "Life's a Beach" raffle. Judi won a cheque for some spending money to take with her on her holiday to Almuñécar. Buen Viaje Judi!
